Whilst
working at NHS Harrow as Operational Manager from July 2007 –May 2011,
Graham was responsible for several budgets (circa £5m.) such as
Information Management & Technology, Estates/Facilities and Family
Health Services (patient data services).
He
continually looked at ways of improving performance and reducing spend
within those budgets for which had already been subjected to an annual
Cost Improvement Programme.
In
reviewing work procedures he was able to improve performance using minimal
investment and reduce the workforce year on year via natural wastage.
After implementing the changes the service levels agreements that were
reported quarterly demonstrated a sharp increase in performance and
continued to maintain those levels thereafter.
He
was able to reduce costs by meeting various suppliers on items such as
Telecoms, Utilities, Rent & Rate reviews and IT equipment without
comprising service or quality. This resulted in an overall saving of £1m
during his time with NHS Harrow.
